Midwinter Minis is committed to transparency regarding how technology is used across our store and product design. This AI Policy sets out where artificial intelligence is used within our business operations and, just as importantly, where it is not.
Product Design & Creative Works
No artificial intelligence has been used to create, generate, or produce the commercial creative content of our products. All artwork, visual design, illustrations, photography, creative direction, and product concepts relating to The Backdrop Binder and our product range are entirely human-created. AI is never used as a substitute for human artistic creativity or craftsmanship.
Administrative & Technical AI Use
We may use artificial intelligence tools to assist with administrative, operational, and website development tasks. This includes assistance with technical problem-solving, website coding, copy editing, and internal workflow support. All AI-assisted technical or text content is thoroughly reviewed, edited, and approved by us before publication.
Contributor & Partner Requirements
We require full transparency from all contractors, collaborators, and contributors working on Midwinter Minis projects. Contributors must disclose any AI-assisted tools used in their workflow upon request to ensure compliance with this policy and preserve the creative integrity of our human-made products. Failure to disclose material AI use when requested may result in the rejection, suspension, or termination of the work or collaboration.
Intellectual Property & AI Training
We oppose artificial intelligence models being trained on artists' work without their explicit, written permission. We firmly believe that artists and creators must retain full control over how their intellectual property is used, including whether it is included in machine learning datasets.
